Finishing

Cover the mounting board with the lining fabric, and staple the fabric in place along one 2"-wide side of the board. This will be the top.

Position the two end screw eyes on the lower 2"-wide side of the board, placing as shown (3). Equally space the remaining eyes no more than 12" apart. Turn all screw eyes parallel to the board short ends, so the cords will run through them easily.

Flip the board so the screw eyes are facing down, and position the shade upper edge along the top surface of the mounting board. Fold the upper shade over the edge of the mounting board, and place it in the window to test for size and positioning. Make any length adjustments needed, trimming the extra length from the shade upper edge. Staple the shade to the top of the mounting board with the lining side against the covered board.

Insert the dowels into the casings.

Lay the shade on a flat surface with the lining side up, and mark the placement for the plastic rings along the dowel casing lines, aligning them with the screw eyes in the mounting board.

Hand or machine sew a small plastic ring at each mark (4).
