Use home dec grommet tape for projects other than curtains.

Various companies sell grommet tape systems designed for quick-to-make curtains and drapes. Even though each product is unique, they usually consist of a header tape sewn to the curtain's upper edge and grommet loops applied over the tape. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each product. In addition to their intended use, consider these innovative grommet tapes for projects beyond simple curtains.

This shower curtain uses one length of grommet tape to combine the three curtain layers: liner, base fabric and sheer overlay. For the sheer overlay, pick an embroidered sheer or a sheer in a color contrasting to the base fabric for an interesting combination. If you don't want to attach the vinyl/plastic liner permanently to the shower curtain, use a double shower curtain rod. Or attach a separate length of grommet tape and grommets to the upper edge of the shower curtain liner and line them up with the grommets on the other layer.

Textol Instant Curtain Tape has plastic spacers that help retain even folds on hanging curtains. For the bag, they're not necessary so use utility scissors to cut them off next to the grommet holes.

This large laundry bag will hold at least two loads of laundry--perfect for a new college student. If you don't have an embroidery machine, consider spelling out "Laundry" with iron-on letters or stenciling.
